At noon Eastern I will be hosting a one hour live Writing Practice on Zoom. If you haven’t started doing writing practice, you may want to come and check out this event.
What is Writing Practice?
We begin with a silent, sitting mediation to quiet our minds. We then proceed directly into two timed writing session (10 minutes each, writing on a topic). Finally, we conclude with a reading of what we wrote. There are some “rules,”
Rules for writing during Writing Practice
hand writing is best
keep you hand moving
write without judgement
do not worry about grammar, spelling, handwriting, or anything, just GO
you are permitted to write the worst stuff ever written
be specific (ie don’t say “car,” say “2003 Toyota Corolla”) , and
“go for the jugular” (this does not mean that you must always be brutal in your writing, only that you should always push yourself to continue to write even the things you think you shouldn’t, couldn’t or wouldn’t)
Rules for reading during Writing Pracice
everyone reads without comment or judgement, just read
everyone listens without comment or judgement, or even praise, just listen
when one person reads the group may pause for a moment then the next person reads
if you do not feel comfortable reading you may pass
everything is read and heard with the complete understanding that nothing heard or read leaves the group
Here’s the Link to Join!
It was brought to my attention yesterday that the only way you could find the Zoom link to this month’s events was by accessing the Google Calendar. That was not my intention. I fixed that in the post of this month’s events, but here is the link for your convenience as well:

Sorry to have missed this. Am, unfortunately, recovering from a nasty bug. Hope to catch the next one.
Be well.
