Let’s write together! Every month I’m offering live Zoom events for you to join to grow as a writing while in community. Each month I release the calendar of live Zoom events to let you know when that’s happening. Here’s the rundown of scheduled events for the month of February 2023 9including a brand new collaboration with the Fictionistas Substack community). There are events open to all writers, and some that are exclusive to paid subscribers. Right now the price for that subscription is still $5/month or $50 for the entire year, but it will be increasing VERY soon, so if you’ve been on the fence, this might be the time to hop in for the year long discount! Either way, here’s what’s on my calendar for January:

What it Looks Like
Special Events This Month
You may notice some colorful squares on this month’s calendar. Those are events new to the community.
THE GREAT SUBSTACK PROMPT CELEBRATION
First of all the orange square represents an event that is actually hosted by another Substack community: Fictionistas. Fictionistas is a community for fiction writers who write on Substack (like I do with my Story Hoarder page). Heather Huffman of Sprinkled Inspiration and I are teaming up to start The Great Substack Prompt Celebration with the Fictionistas crew where we will be inspiring the community to write a new story every month with a prompt that we share with them. It all starts with my favorite, a Writing Prompt Party! The information on how to get to that event will be posted on the Fictionistas page on February 2, 2023, so be sure you check it out!
CRITIQUE CREW CHATS
Last month we had our first Critique Crew meeting to discuss the plan moving forward to bring critique into the Stop Writing Alone Community. The first course of action for the crew to take is to READ and DISCUSS the book CRAFT IN THE REAL WORLD. This month will be taking that on in TWO PARTS.
On February 13th we will discuss Part 1: Fiction in the Real World of the book (up to page 110)
On February 20th we will discuss Part 2: Workshop in the Real World of the book. (finish book)
All are welcome to join in these discussions, but YOU MUST HAVE COMPLETED THE READING BEFORE ATTENDING.
