1000 apologies for the late announcement, I thought I had avoided this, but I just got a little reminder that the Writing Practice meeting IS scheduled for today at 10am Eastern. I am unable to do that due to a school event I am needed for at my son’s school. Therefore, today’s meeting is cancelled.

If you want to take on a solo writing practice this morning, all you need is a timer and pen and paper. Here’s what you do:
Step one: sit in a silent meditation for at least five minutes. If your mind needs something “to do”, use the time to hear the sounds around you - hear a sound (ie. think, a car is driving by…) but do not focus on it (do not think, I wonder where they are going… simply move on)
Step two: after the meditation, take out paper or a notebook and write for ten minutes on a topic (we usually do this part twice in our meeting). Simply let your hand go. Write wildly and do not let your hand stop moving for the full time. If you feel like you hit a wall, or your hand has stopped, simply start back at the topic again. Need topics? Here’s what I am thinking of:
Topic 1: Write about ice cream
Topic 2: Start with the phrase, “I am feeling…” and then GO!
