Salman Rushdie is an Indian-born British-American novelist. He’s a prize winning author who has received death threats and even has a fatwa calling for his death ever since the publication of his fourth novel The Satanic Verses in 1988 which continues to hold power over Rushdie’s life over two decades later (“Salman Rushdie is attacked onstage in Western New York.” New York Times). I am just getting started with Mr. Rushdie’s MasterClass, but since I know many writers are in the planning stages of writing in preparation for NaNoWriMo, I thought the six essential questions for story that he shares in lesson 2 would be the perfect share for this MasterClass Monday.
