This month I needed to add two more meetings to the calendar, one for each of our book clubs.
Another conversation about the intro to Save the Cat Writes A Novel on March 17th at 2pm eastern, and
Another workshop focusing on pages 12-19 of The Practicing Poet on March 22nd at 10am.
The Topics
Both of these book clubs are very new, so if you are one of those people who like to be there from the beginning, you’ve got another shot at it here.
Story Club
On Monday, the 17th we’ll runthrough the basics of the Save the Cat story structure, Jessica Brody’s advice on creating characters readers want to read, and finding out where your current WIP will be best served by this book. This is based on our reading up to Chapter 3 of Save the Cat Writes a Novel by Jessica Brody.

The Practicing Poets Club
On Saturday, March 22nd, we are discussing the “Know More” lesson/craft tip by author and poet Cynthia Marie Hoffman focusing on the power of doing research for our writing and how to avoid falling down research rabbit holes. The prompt of this month’s Practicing Poet’s Club will have you doing a deep dive on one special letter and all the words you can think of that start with it, end with it, or feature it in some other interesting and/or melodic way. This is work found on pages 12- 19 of The PRacticing Poet edited by Dian Lockward.
