Am I the only one who’s a sucker for a summer reading list? Every year, as a student, I looked forward to the annual distribution of the summer assignment I couldn’t wait to dig into. As a teacher, I haunted my students and colleagues at the end of June to give me my own copy of their assignments. Even now, I ask my husband to bring home what his school is assigning and grab up the New York Public Library’s lists every time they show up!
But what about OUR assigned summer reading list? You know… the one for writers? I say it’s time WE make one!
