Writing Prompt #10: Rory's Story Cubes

Welcome back to your weekly writing prompt inspiration.

This week’s prompt is a visual one from tool Rory’s Story Cubes. Here is a picture of the nine cubes rolled:
The prompt, which is nine cubes each with a picture drawn on it, asks you to write a story including all nine of the pictures. I will name each of the pictures as I see them, but know that you can interpret them in whatever way you need to in order to support your story. For example, when presented with a picture of a light bulb, you may use that prompt literally as a light bulb, or interpret it as light, an idea, electricity, etc. It’s up to you and your interpretation! Here are the nine pictures on the cubes:
a fountain — a tree — a beetle
an abacus — an arrow — a fish
a building — a magnet — a lightbulb
