Episode 177: Story Structure for Discovery Writers

Stop Writing Alone Podcast #177

Are you a discovery writer struggling to find structure without taking the wind out of your discovery-writing sails? I think I found some North Stars we can follow on our journey that can save us from getting lost at sea while still allowing us to enjoy the journey. Based on my reading of Daniel Josua Rubin’s 27 Essential Principles of Story, and my listening to the Writing Excuses podcast, I have found story guiding principles that will help me lean my story ship into the winds of structure. I share the them in this episode and I’d love to hear your thoughts about them!

Stop Writing Alone
Stop Writing Alone
Stop Writing Alone is a weekly show for writers looking for a writing community. In each episode listeners will learn where and how they can find, or create, their own writing community while joining one such community with Stop Writing Alone. The show will provide inspiration, writing activities, critique, and lessons from “distant teachers” in the writing world via their writings, online presence, and interviews. The show is written and hosted by Nicole Rivera, co-organizer of a local writing group, writer, and Pitch Wars 2016 mentee.
