This week the community behind National Novel Writing month over at nanowrimo.org announced that there will be no in-person events associated with their nonprofit community due to risks associated with COVID-19. It’s the right move, but the question remains: how do we sustain the excitement, the energy, and continue to build community without all the awesome that is in-person NaNoWriMo events? Nicole has some ideas and shares them this week, including tools for virtual connection, tips on how show up for a virtual community, and why this might be the best opportunity for you to find your peeps!

Stop Writing Alone
Stop Writing Alone
Stop Writing Alone is a weekly show for writers looking for a writing community. In each episode listeners will learn where and how they can find, or create, their own writing community while joining one such community with Stop Writing Alone. The show will provide inspiration, writing activities, critique, and lessons from “distant teachers” in the writing world via their writings, online presence, and interviews. The show is written and hosted by Nicole Rivera, co-organizer of a local writing group, writer, and Pitch Wars 2016 mentee.
